It's been a while since I've stepped foot into an arcade. We were waiting for Obsessed to start last night so we had 30 minutes to burn. PPC has never been to an arcade in her youth (Jesus, makes me wonder how she grew up) so we went in for some...

...button mashing fun!

There was this claw crane machine called Big Sweet Land which pushes candy instead of plush toys. It's a rip off - I got 3 sweets for 6 tokens. :p

It's back to old skool Daytona USA after that. I solidly beat PPC by 1 ½ FULL rounds...just coz her accelerator pedal wasn't working. Heh!

There's this arcade machine which has no English translations at all. It involves using two phone-looking-things to beat ghosts on the screen. The ghosts are behind a metal grill and in 2P mode, one side shows an image which looks like a wheel.

It took us three (3) tries before we finally figured out that one player is supposed to turn the wheel to raise the gate while the other pummels the ghosts coming out of the cell. It's like being a prison warden of a correctional facility filled with dangerous supernatural entities. Fun.

I also soundly thrashed PPC in air hockey. ;)
Don't ask me if Obsessed was a good movie. I promptly fell asleep after the opening credits. Serious.

Hey obsessed was pretty good, Ali larter was haaawt, so was beyonce knowles, and the bitch fight... lol i thought it was fine, though the story was predictable.
Dude, cardinal rule, always let the girl win ;)
hey, glad you are doing swell,( there. that should piss a lot of persons of, HB.) I am 50. I was told, years ago, (38) I had 90 days to live. that was back in
It's been a while since I last step into an arcade too! I love the basketball thing and always manage to beat the high score :P and air hockey.. ahh so nostalgic! I'm very bad in all the racing games tho. :P
i miss miss miss daytona car racing... i remember always having to have a go on it before leaving the mall... and rm5 poorer..
Jan: My review of Obsessed:
THE END.
I fell asleep during the movie coz I was too tired from work. Serious. I don't remember anything after the opening credits. :)
Andrew: Heh! I don't know, if it was inverted e.g. there's this really good girl drifter, I wouldn't want her to let me win. I would prefer her to go all out so I can learn from her. I'm gonna ask again next week. Not with my car though, my suspension damn fucked up dy. :)
tom r: Yeah, I'm glad you made it this far too my friend. Don't believe everything the doctors say, I was told I was gonna die during my ICU crisis (complete kidney failure) but hey, it's been 3 years since then and I'm still alive and kicking!
Hope you have many more years to come mate, you deserve it! :)
chefmel: Me too actually...back when I was 12 or 13, there were no cybercafes, so arcades were all the rage. It was only when I was 14 that I got dial up net access at home. :)
OMG, I'm showing my age. ;)
cindy khor: Yup, I like it too! :)
Daytona, classic! Haha
HB, I been searching for a software that design a rollercoaster ride but could'nt find anywhere. Have you ever heard of such a software? There a great arcade at Pier 39 in San Francisco which I once in a while head there or Reno with friends.
I still like Mortal Combat.
shaoweii: Indeed...probably the most popular arcade game ever. :)
Michael (Mike): Rollercoaster Tycoon you mean? You can download it on torrent sites...but that's the PC version. I don't know any arcade rollercoaster games. :)
Totally mis this post :S I spend most my time at home..my parents are quite protective! Big bully :P
PinkPorkChop: Eh, why your parents so protective? :)
I also never been to an arcade until I step into uni life and that's the 1st & last maybe.. The claw crane machine caught my attention and I was hoping to get one of the cute bear but in the end got nothing.. Quiet disappointed that time :)
Shirley Snow: It's probably coz I'm old. :(
I didn't get 28.8k dial up modems until I was 14 and before then only played Wolf 3D and other Apogee games before moving to Doom and Doom II.
