Leaving on a jet plane

The only version of 'Leaving on A Jet Plane' that I listen to is by Chantal Kreviazuk, the original singer, writer. Is that her or those other singer that butchered the song?

I thought this song was written by John Denver several years before Chantal was born? First recorded by the Mitchell Trio in 1967 & Denver himself released his own version 2 yrs later.

Ben, correct! Denver's one sounds very country. Chantal's vocal is more powerful than that girl, HB, u're an IT expert and a tone deaf too.. no offense but i can't brag about being more soulful than that girl. lol lol lol lol.... yes, i don't sing anymore nowadays but back in 1990's i sang and took part in various singing contests including the RTM's Bintang Kecil when I was in primary school.

LOLsim: The first time I heard the song (besides from radio and other sources) was by a cover band called Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. It's a punk band under NOFX's Fat Wreck Chords label.

That song was so popular in the 70. My parents went to John Denver concerts and other rock concerts. I was shock to find my parents were rockers (not rocking chairs) fans. They also went to lot of disco clubs too. Sometime we see parents well old but forget they have life just like us.
