accident
I can reconstruct a partial picture of the night from third hard accounts and other sources. I personally can't remember much except the vague notion of not being able to find my way out of Rajang Park (a housing estate) and something unyielding attached to the front of my car.

debris
I seem to have run into a lamp post under unknown circumstances and from what I've been told, I dropped off one of my friends earlier in the night before she pointed my car in the right direction and told me to take the exit right out.

bumper
Anyway, 5 minutes later, while attending to her dental hygiene needs, she heard/saw a black Toyota VIOS speeding past the back of her house and crash head on into a utility pole/lamp post. She didn't see the license plate so she called another one of my friends (since my cell phone battery was dead that night) and told her I might have misjudged a certain turning radius while navigating the corners around her residence.

plate
I did remember attempting to switch on my cell phone and calling the friend in question, telling her that I seem to be stuck somewhere around Lane 23 (it was actually Lane 21). She got another friend to drive her there and a couple of minutes later, she told me Lane 23 was deserted and asked me to take my beer goggles off and look at the street sign again.

close
Anyway, long story short, she drove my car (with me in it) home so all's well that ends well. Except that my car will probably be in the workshop for at least a week - initial assessment says that I have severed a hydraulic cable and they will have to order these parts in.

Hmm...I had thought that the all new sixthseal.com would not have posts like this, but there you go. ;)

My apologies.

You can take your chances, but there's so much to lose
Another bumpy road, there's so much wasted booze

A:
The lamp post is harder. It's ALWAYS harder.

wah... Of course the lamp post is harder. :)

1114?

Nice one... been there

Glad to hear you are on the wagon vis a vis recreational pharmaceuticals and also the hard stuff.
As a practising healthcare professional, i can tell you that that is the road to perdition, and drawing on my own past dalliances, and the awesome fact that i have legal access to it (envy envy), er.. what was the point i was trying to make? :-). Oh yes, those things cause both retrograde n antegrade amnesia.
So, stick to just normal sauces, you know, ETOH, and know that Sarawak is a haven for inebriation cos duty free is, well, freely available.
That way, we can both die a slow death via hepatic cirrhosis ie if we don't kill ourselves driving drunk.
Anyway, am rambling. Nice to see you waking up n drawing a'ther breath

dammit huai bin, you're back! i've been trying to contact you since you shut down fireelement but nobody know where the hell you've disappeared to and everyone telling me that you're dead so HURRAY YOU'RE ALIVE AND KICKING and where the hell are you do contact me asap! email me your number or something aye!

eh my previous comment's missing? you're moderating comments? anyway in case it was just a case of me being drunk... good to see you back! and do contact me dude! i've been trying to contact you since you shut down fireelement and went mia =(

fred: my car plate number is QAG 4114.
perhaps it would come out 4D. ;)

Shawn: hmm...i've run into a couple of things (and one person) but never into a lamp post. guess i was less sober than i thought.

dr zhivagone: thanks buddy, it's good to hear from you. :)
i have been hitting ETOH on a weekly basis but my consumption has been moderated nowadays. no urge for daily drinking, surprisingly, since i have a history of problems with alcohol.

Irene: nope there's no moderation in the comments. perhaps it's just an issue of refreshing. :)
anyway, it's good to hear from you. wish you could be in sibu for my birthday this saturday. it would have been fun.

wow, you're back.. what does the new and improved sixthseal should have posted then. if not things like this?

clementwpy: yeah i'm back.
the idea behind the new and improved sixthseal.com was to post less about stuff which the old sixthseal.com would be associated with (at least the negative aspects). ;)
i don't know how much of that is pressure on me to behave in a certain way but i have since decided that i'm not going to mold my life into how others think that i SHOULD live since i'm now sober and all, but how i want to live, and if that means i occasionally drink and get into all kinds of rowdy, well so be it.
it should be enough that i KNOW i'm sober.
