"More, has been found out, and I must warn you fairly that a reckoning is due" - The Strange Case of Charles Dexter Ward, H.P. Lovecraft

I had my 27th birthday at RH Hotel. Joyce had helped me in reserving a table for the Great Weekend Buffet at Oriental Bistro.
This weekend's spread had an Italian theme:

Mixed Vegetable with Garlic Butter
Sausage with Onion
Prawn Skewer
Potato Au Gratin
Baked Spicy Fish
Lamb with Rosemary Sauce
Oat Meat Chicken
Beef Goulash
Aglio Olio
Spaghetti
Chicken Broth Soup
...as well as local and Oriental fare like mee mamak and Teochew Duck.

There was also squid in nice cocktail glasses...

...and small saucers with hors d' oeuvres.

They also kindly brought a cake, which is pretty useful, considering I neglected to furnish one. ;) I'm not sure about the customs regarding birthdays and cakes actually. Does the host provide the cake? Or the guests? Food for thought...

The drawing of the three...

L-R: Faye, Huai Bin (me), Katherine, Chiew Keing, Colin, Joyce, Amy

Four of us also headed over to Hijau Lounge...

...for a bit of an after party.

There was a live band called Samsara playing at the venue, belting out titles like Sweet Child of Mine, I Will Survive and other miscellaneous covers.

L-R: Chiew Keing, Katherine, Huai Bin (me), Faye
I had a lot of cocktails and several bottles of wine (in addition to the bottles of red and white wine during dinner) and I must admit, I felt a tinge of regret when I woke up the next day. ;)

It was also the first time in my life that I was on the receiving end of a bouquet of flowers. This was delivered to my workplace on Saturday morning, and it caused quite a commotion and more than a few jokes. :)

Faye had given me a card with RM 400 in RM 100 dollar notes folded into hearts pasted on the inside. I promptly accused her of not trying hard enough to think of a present to get me. ;)

Joyce, Colin, Katherine, Chiew Keing, and Amy got this bottle of Osana BiOmega Omega-3 capsules which would probably do my poor liver and kidneys a whole world of good.

Happy 27th Birthday!

Happy 27th Birthday!

looking good huai bin!
no new tattoo? ;)
cheers!
Oh you look healthy.
OK, bye
Wah...money origami in birthday card.. why i never get those. ha ha..
Ah! what can i say?
Good to see you morphing into a nice well adjusted 27yo. Aw shucks, how sweet.
Really am glad for you, but at the same time, cannot but help missing the sixthseal of old, you know, the one who's supposed to lead us in the ways of man.
Well, 1 man's gain.....
Maybe a review of the sex romps will spice up the blog, afterall they say sex can be an addiction too....... How? Over to you
It is good to see you alive.
zeroize: hmm...i am actually itching for a new tattoo but i got to head to kuching (at least) for one since there aren't any good tattoo places here. am thinking of going to bali or bangkok, could get one there. :)
ez: well, i feel healthy too. :)
willchua: i have never gotten those before until these year. money origami, yes, but not in cards. i think folding RM 10 dollar notes into hearts was quite the in thing to do in high school, i got a couple of those.
the RM 100 version is probably the supersized edition. ;)
dr zhivagone: thanks! i don't know about the well adjusted part though and today someone just commented on the well publicized relapse rates (heresy! i haven't relapsed for a long time) and i guess the specter of drug use will always haunt my past, but hey...
anyway, i will think about making some posts for a friend *cough* when the time is right. it's not the right time now considering the changes that i'm going through.
i'm glad you liked the old sixthseal.com and i'm sorry that i can't continue to make posts in the same vein due to the situation i'm in right now.
sex eh...am a little bit hesitant to do that but perhaps i'll do one and see how it floats this weekend. ;)
Horse: thanks! much appreciated...
if you superimpose edison chen face onto your body, none will be wiser...
good to have you back!
kongkay: hmm...my body not as good as his, me thinks. but thanks anyway. :)
it's good to be back
Happy belated birthday HB. Was thinking to send a birthday wish to you on April 5, but away three days for business trip. ^_^ I want RM400 for gift too.
fish fish: thanks fish fish! :)
it's the thought that counts.
Happy Birthday.
Welcome Back HB...
jimmychin: thanks! :)
